1 Siua Otunuku

Showed his experience when the match was on the line. Cleaned up kicks well for the most part. Didn’t let anyone down, on what was a difficult day to be a fullback. 7/10

2 Saula Solomona

Ever reliable. Safe as houses defensively, defusing every kick sent his way and combining well with Francis Leger. 8/10

3 Malo Solomona

On hand to help set up the try. Did everything asked of him. 7/10

4 Francis Leger

Helped suffocate Glenora’s usually lethal right edge. Made some great reads defensively. 8.5/10

5 Gary Fuimaono

His effort to keep the ball alive in the lead up to the Pirates’ try was the difference in the game. Got involved in the work coming out of yardage and made a crucial play to help stop a Glenora try in the dying stages. 8.5/10

6 Sioeli Makaui

Made full use of his dominant forward pack, doing some damage off quick play the balls. A constant presence for the Pirates. Led by example . 7.5/10

20 Jeremiah Pai

His kicking game, particularly in the opening exchanges, helped Pt Chevalier establish dominance. His enthusiasm and confidence was contagious when the game was on the line. 7.5/10

8 Daniel Palavi

Took it to the Glenora pack. Uncompromising in his carries. Just refused to go away. 8.5/10

9 Tevita Latu

Controlled the tempo well. Walked a fine line with some of his hits, but was a main driver in establishing dominance over the Bears’ pack in the first half. 6.5/10

10 Kitiona Pasene

Laid a good platform for his spine, with some big carries that left defenders on the ground. A solid presence. 6.5/10

11 Matti Tuitama

Will forever be remembered for scoring the winning try. Tackled all day and held his edge together nicely off the ball. 7.5/10

12 Abraham Papalii

Contained Epalahame Lauaki well through the opening quarter. Made good decisions around offloads. 7/10

13 Nathan Newton

Worked so hard despite being one of the smallest forwards on the park. Brave in his defensive work and went looking for hit ups. 7.5/10

Interchange:

14 Dylan Tavita

Held his own in defence and din’t let anyone down in his short stint on the park. 6/10

15 Michael Ki

A fairly quiet day by his standards. No obvious mistakes. 6/10

16 Chris Sio

Delivered great energy from the bench. Lots of carries and held the middle together well defensively. 7.5/10

19 Paki Afu

Dominant in every area while he was on the park. Made a quality break early in the second spell and overall caused all sorts of issues for Glenora. 8/10
