At 37 years of age, Mariu continues to perform at the highest levels, and earlier this year was named as the Warriors’ captain for the new competition.
Hireme comes off a World Cup where she scored a remarkable 13 tries in four appearances, while Fotu-Moala picked up the Player of the Tournament award at the same event.
Australian Jillaroos Ali Brigginshaw and Simaima Taufa are the other two nominees.
