NZ Player of the Week – Rd 4

Each week fans on our social media accounts vote for their NZ Player of the Round, with a running leaderboard which decides the 2017 kiwileaguecentral.com NZ Player of the Year.

Kiwi enforcer Martin Taupau wasted no time in making his presence felt as he returned from suspension last week, leading from the front as Manly shut the Bulldogs out 36-0.

From 17 carries Taupau had 179 metres, consistently punching through one of the biggest forward packs in the NRL.

This week he received 43 per cent of the overall NZ Player of the Week vote, followed by Penrith flyer Dallin Watene-Zelezniak on 29 per cent.

Simon Mannering and Jordan Rapana were the other two players to be awarded points towards the NZ Player of the Year in Round 4.

Martin Taupau (43% of vote) – 4 points

Dallin Watene-Zelezniak (29% of vote) – 3 points

Simon Mannering (14% of vote) – 2 points

Jordan Rapana (14% of vote) – 1 point
