Kiwi utility Thomas Leuluai will leave the New Zealand Warriors at the end of this year to link up with Wigan in the Super League, after being granted a release from the last year of his contract on compassionate grounds.
As part of the Wigan deal the 31-year-old will take up a role as an assistant coach once his playing days are over.
Leuluai previously spent six years at Wigan, making 189 appearances and scoring 60 tries whilst winning grand final, Challenge Cup and league leader’s trophies.
He has played 34 Tests for the Kiwis since his debut in 2003.
