The New Zealand Rugby League are close to securing an historic clash against England in the United States on the State of Origin weekend next year.
The Sydney Morning Herald’s Steve Mascord reported the man driving the 2025 World Cup in North America, Jason Moore, confirmed the plans following the Rugby League World Cup final in Brisbane.
“What is the proposal? It’s to play a fully fledged, internationally sanctioned Test match in the United States of America on the bye weekend afforded to us by the Sunday State of Origin game,” Moore told the SMH.
Denver, Colorado shapes as the most likely venue should the plans go ahead.
