Former Junior Kiwi Kenny Edwards scored a key first-half try for Catalans, in a game which they eventually won 23-22, thanks to a Tony Gigot field goal.

The Kiwi contingent at Hull FC notched up their second victory of the year, getting past Huddersfield 28-8 at John Smith’s Stadium, while Randwick Kingfishers junior Mose Masoe scored two tries for the other side of Hull, Kingston Rovers, in a 32-16 loss to Castleford.

Bill Tupou (pictured) topped the yardage count with 270 metres, and registered plenty of other impressive stats, as Wakefield powered past Wakefield 35-18.

Down in the Championship, Widnes ended a horror period which saw the club go into administration, with a comprehensive 44-22 victory over Featherstone, with Anthony Gelling among the Vikings’ eight try-scorers, while Constantine Mika and Tyla Hepi both took the field for Toulouse in a 14-0 shutout of Bradford.

In the third-tier League 1, Isaac Ah Kuoi-Atmore, the nephew of former Kiwi Fred Ah Kuoi, came off the bench for London Skolars in a heavy defeat to Newcastle.
