New Zealand has a new group of club world champions, with Thomas Leuluai, Anthony Gelling and Frank-Paul Nuuausala taking the field for the Wigan Warriors in their World Club Challenge victory over the Cronulla Sharks.
Wigan became the first Super League side to win the champion of champions clash since Leeds in 2012, coming out convincing 22-6 winners thanks in large to a Joe Burgess hat-trick.

As a result of the World Club Series, the Super League had a split round last week, but a couple of Kiwi lads still featured heavily in one of the games played, with Ukuma Ta’ai crossing for Huddersfield in a 30-20 loss to Salford.
Former Kiwi international Junior Sa’u scored for Salford, with Gareth O’Brien’s seven conversions proving the key difference on the night.
In the Championship competition, London were helped along to a 20-18 win over Oldham by a strong performance from former Junior Warrior Mark Ioane.
Toulouse Olympique were massive 56-2 winners of Dewsbury Rams, with one-time NRL player Constantine Mika and Auckland-born Kane Bentley getting over for four-pointers.
