Kiwis abroad – April 19

Check out the latest news involving our Kiwis playing league outside of New Zealand and Australia, with our wrap of the action from around Europe.

It was a busy past seven days in the Old Dart, with teams playing twice over Easter Weekend.

It proved to be a prolific couple of days for one-time Kiwi international Ben Roberts, scoring a double against St Helens three days after picking up a try in Castleford’s 42-24 win over Wakefield.

Fellow ‘Cas’ Tiger Jake Webster scored a double against Wakefield as well, as the Tigers sit atop the Super League ladder after 10 games.

In the south of France Louis Anderson and Krisnan Inu both scored for Catalans in a big win against Salford, with Sam Moa a strong contributor in the middle of the park with 144 run metres.

Hull FC got back to winning ways after a tough run, downing Leigh 24-10 with Mt Wellington Warriors junior Carlos Tuimavave scoring a double.

Down in the Championship division Api Pewhairangi kicked five goals for London in a big victory, while Misi Taulapapa dotted down for Featherstone in a commanding 44-18 win over Bradford.

Toulouse Olympique secured a huge result in their quest for promotion, downing top-of-the-table Hull KR 14-6.

The Bentley brothers – Kane and Andrew – both took the field for the French side, along with former Pt Chevalier Pirate Tyla Hepi.

Former Junior Kiwi captain Zach Dockar-Clay played for KR.

Another week, another thumping victory for Canadian trailblazers the Toronto Wolfpack, with Fuifui Moimoi and Quentin Laulu-Togaga’e (two tries) getting on the sheet in the 80-0 win over North Wales Crusaders.
